Ukraine’s PlayCity state agency has called on international iGaming companies to stop working with illegal gambling operators in the country.
The regulator highlighted cases where games and technology solutions from international B2B companies are being used by illegal casinos operating without a Ukrainian license.
What PlayCity Wants Providers to Do
PlayCity has urged international providers to:
- terminate cooperation with illegal operators;
- restrict the use of their content on illegal platforms;
- verify that their partners hold a valid Ukrainian license;
- take action when their products are used illegally.
To help companies verify their partners, the regulator provided data from the official register of licensed gambling operators.
Why Is PlayCity Targeting B2B?
Illegal casinos rely on international iGaming infrastructure, including gaming content, platforms, and other technology solutions.
PlayCity is therefore seeking to cut off the illegal market not only from Ukrainian users and advertising, but also from B2B suppliers that provide the technology and infrastructure powering these platforms.
If international providers start cutting illegal operators off from their content and technology, it will become more difficult for such casinos to continue operating at full capacity.
For Ukraine’s iGaming market, this means tighter oversight across several levels: operators, advertising, websites — and now B2B providers.
