Police in Volochysk, Khmelnytskyi region, have uncovered a suspected illegal gambling venue operating from a secured basement in a residential building. A 63-year-old local woman is suspected of organising the operation.
Access to the premises was restricted. Investigators found an administrator and one customer inside, along with computers containing gambling software, surveillance cameras, mobile phones, bank cards and other equipment.
A separate search of the suspected organiser’s home uncovered more than UAH 400,000 in cash. Investigators also seized handwritten notes that may be connected to the alleged gambling operation.
The woman has been notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 203-2 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, which covers the illegal organisation or operation of gambling and lotteries.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish how the venue operated and whether other individuals were involved.
The allegations have not been proven in court and the case remains under investigation.
