Online casinos in Canada's province of Ontario brought in about $244 million (CA$340.8 million) in September 2026, the third straight month in which casino revenue in the region set a monthly record. Operators accepted $9.71 billion in cash wagers over the month, according to the monthly report from iGaming Ontario published on October 28. The dollar conversion uses the Bank of Canada rate for October 30.
Across the regulated market, the province generated CA$416.3 million (about $298 million) in September. That is 26.2% more than a year earlier and 5% more than August's CA$396.3 million.
Online casinos account for about 82% of that total: casino revenue rose 22.7% year over year and made up 82% of the market. Compared with August, when casinos brought in CA$336.3 million, the gain was 1.3%.
Sports betting is growing faster than casinos: its revenue rose 47% year over year.
Active accounts reached 1.41 million, a market record. But average revenue per active account fell 10% to $295. This month's growth comes from the number of accounts, not revenue per account. Accounts are not the same as players, however: iGO notes that the figure counts accounts, not unique players, because people may hold accounts with more than one operator.
The market is held up by 49 operators, which run 84 online gambling sites. The province received about CA$83 million (about $59.5 million) under a model in which 20% of operators' revenue goes to provincial coffers. iGO figures are in Canadian dollars and unaudited.
iGO will add October data to the report on the same schedule: iGaming Ontario updates this release monthly to add data from the previous calendar month of activity.
