Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) published its first report on the regulated online gambling market in the Canadian province on October 23. From the launch on July 13 through September 30, 2026, operators earned $122.1M in GGR before adjustments.
Bets over the period totaled $2.89B. Monthly breakdown: from July 13 to 31, GGR reached $22.2M on $532.9M in bets; in August, $43.3M on $1.06B; in September, $56.6M on $1.22B. September GGR was $13.3M higher than August's.
At launch, 15 operators ran 22 casino and betting sites. By September 30, there were 24 licensed operators managing more than 30 platforms. Licensed sites had over 388,000 active gaming accounts as of that date.
AiGC describes a “steady flow” of players moving to the legal market. The report does not give the legal market's share as a percentage. AiGC expects several more companies to join the market before year-end.
The first report covers almost three months. Starting October 2026, AiGC will publish data monthly.
