OpenAI has expanded ad placements in ChatGPT to 26 more countries, including Ukraine. Advertisers can buy placements through OpenAI's technology partners or directly in the Ads Manager dashboard. The expansion was announced on October 21, and the number of markets has risen to 89.
Ads are shown to users of the free Free plan and the Go subscription. They do not appear in Plus, Pro or Enterprise plans. According to OpenAI, the ads are labeled and do not affect ChatGPT's answers.
The company began testing ads in ChatGPT in February 2026. David Dugan, OpenAI's head of global advertising solutions, says more than 2,000 brands are already running campaigns through the platform. The company also reports that more than 100,000 advertisers have run campaigns since the service launched.
The first pricing benchmarks came from Yuriy Kopyshinskyi, CEO of the Webpromo agency. He says the dashboard defaults to a budget of $100 per day and a bid of $3.5 per click. In manual mode he was able to lower the bid to $0.1, but it is unclear whether ads would then be shown. According to him, the predicted CPM in the dashboard is $20-30, which is four to five times the Meta average. This is the system's estimate, not an actual price.
Kopyshinskyi sees the most potential in classic e-commerce and less in banking and medicine. On the platform's first day, about ten clients approached the agency wanting to try the channel. In his estimate, AI-service advertising is unlikely to take significant share from Google and Meta within the next year.
Payment is a separate issue for Ukrainian businesses. According to Kopyshinskyi, the card payment model is unfamiliar to local companies, and building systematic work will take longer. He advises tracking results through Google Analytics and CRM, comparing the cost of acquiring a customer with other channels.
