Telegram has applied to create a new .gram domain extension. Now, everything depends on ICANN’s decision. If the regulator approves the application, Telegram users could get their own second-level domains.
The idea is quite ambitious: a Telegram username could potentially be turned into a full-fledged web address. For example, @durov → durov.gram.
But that’s not all. According to Pavel Durov, owners of these domains will be able to launch their own interactive websites hosted on Telegram’s infrastructure – and create them with a single prompt.
The name Gram is also no coincidence. It was originally the name of the TON project’s token in its early documents. In June 2026, Durov announced the return to the name: the Toncoin token was renamed Gram, while the blockchain itself retained the TON name.
If the application is approved, Telegram could effectively turn a regular username into an entry point not only to a profile, but also to a personal mini-website.
