Offshore Brands Took 83.9% of France's Gambling Search Demand in October 2026

Offshore brands raised their share of French gambling search demand from 67.5% to 83.9%. The comparison covered two 14-day periods: September 7–20 and September 29 to October 12, 2026. The analytics platform Blask published the data on October 28.

Overall interest in online gambling more than doubled over this period. Licensed operators captured only a small share of the growth. Their search demand rose by about 25% in absolute terms, but their activity stayed below August levels.

Two brands accounted for roughly half of the increase. Leon raised its daily Blask Index more than tenfold, while gtBet first appeared in the data on September 29. Even without gtBet, total demand still nearly doubled, with growth spread across many offshore casino brands.

France's regulator ANJ licenses online sports betting, horse racing and poker, but does not license online casinos. Online casinos are explicitly prohibited, so all online casino demand in France in Blask's data goes to offshore sites. For French traffic, this means the casino vertical operates without a licensed offer.

The Blask Index measures relative online search demand, not revenue or deposits.

The growth coincided with protests that began over school blockades at the end of September. The peak came in early October, and gambling search interest was already declining when further demonstrations took place on October 17 and 24.

By the end of October, overall search interest had declined, but offshore operators continued to account for a larger share of French gambling demand than before the surge.
