DraftKings climbs to third place among prediction market operators by volume

DraftKings (DKeX) topped $3 billion in notional volume in the week ending October 18 and ranked third among prediction market operators. Data from Aldrin Research shows this, and CEO Jason Robbins made the claim publicly.

Robbins spoke on October 22 at the Next Predicts conference in New York. In a conversation with CNBC anchor Contessa Brewer, he said the company launched the exchange only a few months ago and already holds third place firmly.

According to Aldrin Research, DraftKings sits just behind offshore platform Polymarket. It narrowly overtook fourth-place Novig. Kalshi and Polymarket remain ahead on notional volume.

On Sunday, October 18, in Week 6 of the NFL season, the exchange posted $316 million in notional volume. Aldrin Research estimates this is the company's record high.

Robbins believes the company has a strong product position thanks to its in-house development team. He sees the second advantage over young prediction market operators in cross-selling: DraftKings has online betting, iCasino and lotteries, and customers can be moved between these verticals.

Aldrin Research's next weekly data will show whether the company can hold third place after a record week.
