The Cambodia Commercial Gambling Management Commission (CGMC) is developing an online system to collect gambling fees and other payments to the regulator. The regulator said on social media that a meeting on the topic took place on October 19.
The meeting was chaired by CGMC Secretary-General Yet Vinel. Representatives of the General Department of Taxation, the General Department of Customs and Excise, the Department of State Property and Non-Tax Revenue, and the National Treasury Department took part. Participants discussed the legal framework and the technologies used to collect and record tax and non-tax revenue.
According to CGMC, the secretariat is gathering opinions from relevant agencies to develop standard operating procedures and an IT system for revenue collection. This is still a consultation stage, not a launch.
The regulator's statement gives no launch timeline, no list of payers, and no details on whether the system will affect online operators. It also does not say whether the system will replace the current payment procedure or operate alongside it. The information comes from a single source, so details beyond what the regulator chose to disclose are not available.
The idea is not new to CGMC's plans. In a report on meetings held August 10–20, the regulator named IT development and standard procedures as priorities for the second half of 2026, along with more frequent on-site inspections and monitoring of gambling operators.
Operators and partners working with Cambodia should watch for CGMC's next announcements. They are expected to set out the system's format, timelines, and range of participants.
