A Danish court has authorised the regulator to block 98 online platforms operating without a local gambling licence and targeting users in Denmark. Polymarket is among the websites on the list.
The regulator assessed whether platforms were targeting Danish customers based on several factors, including Danish-language interfaces, pricing in Danish kroner, national symbols, local payment options and Danish-language customer support.
Once the latest blocks are implemented, the number of websites restricted by Danish authorities since 2012 will reach 870.
DNS blocking remains one of the regulator’s main tools for restricting unlicensed gambling services targeting the Danish market.
