Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego (SCJ), Chile's casino regulator, said 22 casinos operating under Law 19.995 generated gross gaming revenue of 372.8 billion pesos (about $380 million) in January–September 2026. That is 7.9% less than in the same period of 2025, in real terms.
Taxes and fees from these casinos totaled about $144 million, down 8.46% year on year. The largest is the gaming tax at about $63 million. VAT brought in about $61 million, and the entry tax on gaming halls about $21 million. The gaming tax is split equally between regions and municipalities, while the other payments go to the state budget.
Revenue is falling faster than the average spend is rising. Visitors over the nine months numbered 4.07 million, down 11.25%. Average spending per visit rose 3.82% to about $93. Together these two figures produce a 7.9% decline in revenue: higher spending softened the drop but did not stop it.
Three municipal casinos brought in about $30 million in gross revenue, down 5.9% in real terms. Both categories are declining: casinos under Law 19.995 and municipal concessions.
The figures cover only land-based casinos regulated by SCJ. Online gaming is not included.
