Betsson posts record Q3 2026 revenue of €326.5M, but EBIT falls 31%

On October 22, Betsson published its interim report for January–September 2026. Third-quarter revenue rose 10% to €326.5 million, the highest in the company’s history. Operating profit (EBIT), however, fell 31% to €46.1 million, and the EBIT margin declined from 22.6% to 14.1%. Net profit dropped 44% to €28.2 million.

The casino vertical drove growth, with revenue up 14% to €253.5 million. Sportsbook revenue grew 1% to €71.8 million, even though turnover rose 8% to €1.37 billion. The sportsbook margin after free bets fell to 8.1% from 8.8% a year earlier. Organic revenue growth was 8%, compared with 10% overall, as acquisitions contributed part of the increase.

According to the report, gross profit fell 5%, from €189.8 million to €181.1 million, while operating expenses rose from €122.9 million to €135 million. The company cites higher gaming and betting taxes, payment provider costs, lower B2B licensing revenue and increased marketing spending as reasons. It also points to a shift in revenue mix, with more money coming from locally regulated markets where taxes are higher. Regional details in open data are limited. It is known that revenue in Latin America grew 52%, and Western Europe posted a quarterly record.

The number of active customers rose 40% to a record 1.87 million. Betsson links this to the FIFA World Cup and the start of national football championships. The available figures do not allow a split between acquired and organic growth.

Over nine months, revenue totaled €922.1 million (up 3%), EBITDA fell 30% to €171.8 million, and EBIT dropped 39% to €122.3 million. Net profit for the period was €84.1 million, compared with €147.5 million in 2025.

For partners and traffic suppliers, the practical takeaway is that Betsson’s growth is coming mainly from markets with a heavy tax burden, while B2B licensing is delivering less. The report does not say how this will affect terms or budgets. CEO Pontus Lindwall spoke of a positive start to October but did not provide specific figures.
