Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) has published its first Market Performance Report, covering the period from July 13 to September 30, 2026. In September, gross gaming revenue before adjustments came to about $40.5 million, or C$56.6 million at the Bank of Canada rate on October 30. That is roughly 31% more than in August.
July brought in about $15.9 million and August about $31 million. In its first 80 days, the market generated C$122.1 million, or about $87.5 million in US dollars. The corporation attributes the growth to operators coming online gradually: the market launched with 15 operators, and by September 30 there were 24.
AiGC warns that the figures do not reflect the market as a whole, since operators joined in stages.
Casino games accounted for 75.6% of revenue in September, sports and event betting for 19.5%, and live casino for 4.9%. There were 388,585 active gaming accounts in September. That number counts accounts active during the month, not individual people: one player can hold several accounts with different operators. Average revenue per active account was $146.
AiGC CEO Dan Keen reads the numbers this way: early results show that Albertans value the strong oversight and accountability that a regulated market provides.
For media buyers and affiliate partners, the takeaway from the report is simple: casino games drive most of the revenue in the regulated market, while sports bring in about a fifth.
The transition period for existing operators ended on October 13. More operators are due to enter the market before the end of 2026, and AiGC promises to publish monthly reports.
