TikTok is rolling out major functional updates to its comment sections. Users can now respond to video content using voice messages, multi-photo carousels, Live Photos, and interactive polls.
New Comment Features
- Voice Messages: Audio replies up to 60 seconds featuring real-time text transcription and automatic translation (rolling out to users aged 18 and older).
- Interactive Polls: In-comment voting with up to five response options and real-time result tracking.
- Photo Carousels & Live Photos: Visual replies supporting up to nine images in a carousel format alongside Live Photo functionality.
Voice comments and photo carousels will launch globally over the coming month. Comment polls and Live Photos are already live worldwide.

Comment activity represents a primary ranking signal for TikTok's recommendation engine. Increased user interaction directly improves a video's distribution across algorithmic feeds.
