Lawmakers are also discussing a ban on the pre-installation of betting applications on smartphones, tablets, and Smart TVs.

Experts note that if approved, Brazil could introduce one of the toughest gambling advertising restrictions in the world.

Football clubs could lose hundreds of millions

A potential advertising ban could have a major impact on the country’s sports sector, particularly football.

Currently, many clubs in Brazil’s top football division have sponsorship agreements with betting brands, with logos displayed on jerseys, stadiums, and broadcast coverage.
